The second lot of my Star Wars sketches based off movie stills/photos. The first one was more or less random characters I wanted to draw but I thought it might be more interesting to approach each page with a theme or common element. And I want each theme to be based on one episode of the saga.
So this one was "Unlikely Comrades" with the four main heroes from a New Hope. Old Ben Kenobi, farmboy Luke, Princess Leia and Han Solo.
Really great job on Han imo, the eyes fits him very well! I don't really like Leia as big-manga-eyed girl with huge lips, just not that kind of character imo. Ben reminds me of Clone Wars, similar style (for me, at least ). Luke... don't really look like Luke, but is quite good for me too.
aww, where's chewie?(he always gets left out) good job. is the selective colouring of the eyes showing the jedi-link between luke and obi-wan, and the love/hate-link between han and leia, or am i over analysing? i think obi-wan and han turned out the best. did this take long?

Thanks! Han's definitely my fav as well. Heh yeah I agree actually, it's just that I kept trying to make Leia's eyes smaller and she always ended up looking like a guy! So I just gave up and made them stock standard anime girl eyes Heh yeah I find Luke's likeness is the hardest to capture for me. But I was drawing this from the scene where he's looking at setting twin suns, so his eyes are half closed and his hair is flying everywhere. That could be why he looks a little off. I think I did a better job on Luke on this one [link]

Who knew bombs worked so well as an industrial strength cleaner?!
Now slow down kid, I didn't leave out anybody! He just didn't fit with this group. I'm going to draw Chewie in the Return of the Jedi page (but then I'm also planning some NJO and Legacy era drawings so we'll see what gets pushed back )
Man you definitely over analyesed that! I just felt it needed a small bit of colour to pick it up a bit. So I coloured their eyes based on the actors who portrayed them. Your explanation's more interesting though Thanks. Ah took about an hour maybe hour an a half, not sure really. I sketch these sorta pages on and off over a day or two - whenever I feel like drawing a bit.
